Depression

Depression can range from a case of “the blues” to total incapacitation. Mild depression is sometimes overcome with a change in diet, increased exercise, or talking with a trusted friend. If the “blues” persist for more than two weeks, consider getting help from a professional.

The following checklist will guide you in deciding what to do next. If you experience five or more of the listed symptoms for more than two weeks, be sure to give me a call soon.

Depression Symptoms

  • Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" mood
  • Sleeping too little or too much
  • Changes in weight or appetite
  • Loss of pleasure or interest in activites
  • Feeling restless or irritable
  • Persistent physical symptoms that don't respond to treatment
  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering or making decisions
  • Fatigue or loss of energy
  • Feeling guilty, hopeless, or worthless
  • Thoughts of suicide or death
