Fees & Insurance

Fees
My fees are comparable to those of other therapists in the Orlando area with similar training and levels of experience.

Payment is expected at the time of service, but I offer a number of payment options:

  • A limited sliding scale
  • Master Card, Visa, and American Express
as well as checks and cash
  • "No interest" payment plans, by special arrangement

For those who would feel more comfortable with a considerably lower fee, I will happily make referrals to lower cost clinics and therapists, who might be interns or have lower sliding scales. If you have further questions about fees or need more information, please call me.

Insurance
I am willing to work with every person to assist you in getting the help and level of care you need, whether through insurance or private pay. Most of my clients self pay for their therapy. This insures greater confidentiality and flexibility in therapeutic options.

Even though I do not bill insurance companies I provide you a receipt that has all the information that an insurance company will need to reimburse you (if you have a PPO policy). It is best to contact your insurance company before scheduling an appointment. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • Do you pay for mental health services?
  • Is my policy a PPO or an HMO? What is this?
More information on insurance policy types >>>
  • Do you cover the services of a licensed mental health counselor?
  • Do you pay for "out of network" providers?
  • What is your rate of reimbursement for "out of network" providers?

Before deciding to use your insurance provider, there are some things to consider:

  • Insurance companies usually do not pay for preventative types of services, such as relationship or marriage counseling. They are more likely to cover (and require a diagnosis of) a mental condition such as anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, etc.
  • Insurance companies usually limit your number of visits and types of therapy you can receive.
  • Insurance companies request that you sign a release for them to have access to your therapy records. This will limit your confidentiality.
